Soul Mates?

I had heard additional than once how Chows are terribly cat like in their demeanor and attitudes and since I have had two of them in my life I will make sure this!  Given this similarity I used to be still unprepared for my current Chow’s love of cats.  My last dog chased cats like each genetically correct pup should do, so I used to be amazed at my current pup and her feline fascination.

My pal Keisha was solely five months previous when she met her first cat.  His name was Pongo and he was conjointly 5 months old.  We tend to were visiting with family in Omaha Nebraska for Christmas and Keisha determined to form friends with Pongo.

They tip toed around every alternative for three days even coming back personally eventually.  Then on Boxing Day we tend to had simply finished our lunch of leftovers…you know turkey sandwiches and such, once we heard a crash in the kitchen. Assuming nothing serious we tend to were slow to react.

After we finally moseyed into the kitchen to get occurring the post lunch cleanup they were caught within the act! There they were…Pongo and Keisha in person eating the turkey that somebody (?!?!?) had pushed off of the counter onto the floor.  They had a fine feast along and even after their tag team mischief, Pongo was still reluctant to become quick friends although  I suppose he was beginning to warm up to the thought, after all Keisha had eaten the turkey and not him!

Unfortunately we had to depart before the relationship was cemented.  We have a tendency to have not seen Pongo since however Keisha responds most enthusiastically to his name still, over three years later.

Keisha is almost four years recent currently and since meeting Pongo she has tried to form friends with each cat she meets.  They have all wanted absolutely nothing to try to to with her. And then came MOJO.

Mojo is owned by a neighbour and is an out of doors cat.  He totally suits his name and struts through the “hood” as if he owns it and has complete control over all that goes down in it.  He positively has his MOJO goin on!

At 1st Keisha approached him cautiously, and he would bat at her along with his paws, however never with claws out.  Slowly however surely they came nearer and nearer to every other.  There was the dancing around every alternative amount that looked really funny as each would take their turn jumping forward then backward not not like some ritual.  Then came the purring and then the rolling over and belly sniffing.  After that Mojo began to run around and under Keisha strategically putting his tail in her face.  She managed to take care of her aloof dignity when he will the tail in face thing.  All of this has progressed to Mojo coming back for walks with us, he come back to go to and waits at the door for Keisha to come back out to play.  Keisha can put her paw on his bum to induce the sport of chase going and if Mojo is during the mood he can begin the sport by running or he can roll onto his back and swat at Keisha with all four paws.  Mojo is the alpha in the link despite his ten lbs to Keisha’s sixty!

It is the most wonderful issue to watch and the neighborhood is mesmerized by these 2 quick friends.

To see them together one wonders why some cats and dogs get along and others need to destroy every other. Is it perhaps a past life spent together? Early influences like Pongo? Perhaps Keisha was a cat in her last life and so the affinity for cats and cat like behaviour? Or are they just all very totally different souls with terribly completely different personalities and perspectives?  Who is aware of for positive?  All I know is that my heart invariably warms once I see them along and am awed by this amazing friendship that really appearance like soul mates in action.
