thanks for the post on automatic litter boxes. We are part of the 'automatic litter box' community too - however, we use the ScoopFree system. (www.scoopfree.com) I believe it serves similar purpose to the two you mentioned however what I like best about this box is the crystals that absorb the urine and terrible cat box odor - that has always been a problem with previous boxes. How do the two you mention hold up in that regard? I have heard mixed things.

I have a cat who is about 5 years old and repeatedly gets bladder infections due to a build up of struvite and calcium crystals in the bladder. He (and my 5 other cats) are on a strict Hill Science and Royal Canin urinary diet and yet he constantly ends up in hospital due to emergencies because of straining and blocked urethra, blood in urine, crystal build up in bladder. He wees around the house daily and the wee is full of tiny crystals - he must be in terrible pain. The various vets have no long term solution to offer other than diet which doesn't seem to be working. Please can you advise if any alternative exists. I am based in South Africa and noone here knows of any herbal remedies.
Thanks
