No cat owner wants to have to deal with hairballs, but they are a common problem with cats. They are caused by a build up of fur and lack of brushing. Cats end up swallowing furballs and this is where the problem starts. Once these lodge in the cat’s throat, choking can ensue. This is an unpleasant thing to have to stand by and watch.

Cat health care is all about looking after all aspects of your cat. Look out for a build up of fur. Great advice is to make sure grooming your cat forms a part of your daily routine. Grooming is great and it helps seal the bond between owner and pet. Make sure you do it gently so the animal becomes more relaxed and it will sit in your lap all day as you groom it!

Since some cats out there have very long and thick fur, it is important that you check with the vet if anything specific needs to be done to look after it. Anyone with a Persian cat will know how stunning it is to look at, but the long fur is more likely to make hairballs. You can’t stop the cat from licking itself, as they all do it, which is why hairballs are such a problem. Luckily, dogs don’t suffer with this hairball problem, as they don’t clean themselves by licking the fur. Cats have to lick their fur to keep clean which is why they end up with copious amounts of hair in their throats!

Once the hairball gets into the digestive system, the cat will start trying to cough it up. When the choking starts, the cat’s owner will get a bit nervous about how they are supposed to handle the situation. The cat must finish coughing up the hairball, so keep an eye on it. Look out for any worrying signs and just make sure the cat is okay after coughing the fur up. Luckily, there are some things available to help treat hairballs, so speak to the vet for more information.

These days, Persian cats are among the most popular breeds of cat. On a Persian cat you will notice it has long hair and it is very attractive, with a very gentle disposition. These Persian cats can become man’s best friend in no time and they require very little attention. Despite this, as a pet owner it is worth noting down some important cat health care tips to ensure they stay happy and healthy.

White is the most common colour for Persian cats but there are also other colours too. During competitions, they are divided into seven colour divisions – solid, silver and gold, tabby, shaded and smoke, particular, bicolour, and Himalayan.

Persian cats should always be kept inside of the house, to protect their coat. If they travel outside, they can easily damage their coat. It is also important to brush your Persian daily to prevent hairballs and stop the fur becoming tangled. Bathing is also essential. Bathing works best when the cat is young, as it will get him used to it. Some breeds simply don’t need regular bathing, but Persian cats cant maintain their beautiful coats on their own so you need to help them out a bit. This is because the Persian fur is long and dense, so regular brushing keeps it in pristine condition.

Naturally, you want your beautiful Persian cat to be as healthy as possible and these cat health care tips should help ensure that. Make sure you take your pet to the vet on an annual basis for him to check over your cat’s general health. Persian cats can live up to 20 years providing you look after them properly and keep their health in good order. However, one important thing to be aware of is a Persian cat’s eyes. Persia cats have large eyes and this means they sometimes cant clean them efficiently. This is a common healthy problem with the breed, and should be checked on a regular basis to ensure that it doesn’t get out of control.

Over the last thousands of years, cats have pretty much handled their breeding themselves. In the beginning, they were used for one purpose – hunting and killing rodents. As the years progressed, we began to breed cats more to our liking. Now days, there are several different breeds of cats – which you can tell if you look closely.

These days there are over 70 distinct cat breeds, which are recognized through cat registries. There are several registries that will recognize around 40 breeds or so, as they exclude the more domestic breeds such as tigers. There are also many variations as well, including wild cats that have longer hair.

There are some cat breeds who have roots going back quite a bit in history. Some Japanese breeds, such as the Japanese Bobtail, can be traced back more than 1,000 years in history. These cats were very common and well known throughout Medieval Japan. Now days though, they are all but a myth throughout Japan and the entire world.

The more common cat breeds that are found in North America include the alley cat, long haired cat, and Persian cat. Siamese cats are also common, although they are well known to be destructive and to have a foul temper. Persian cats are very popular, proving to be loving companions. Persian cats can be very expense, depending on where you get it and what type of Persian cat it is.

Alley cats are the most common in North America. There are actually several different breeds, although most of us just refer to them as alley cats. They make good pets, although there are literally thousands of them in existence. Cats are known to breed more than any other pet, and they will continue to breed until they are stopped. Alley cats are among the most bred, as there are hundreds of thousands of cats that are homeless – and have nothing to do but breed.

The look of the cat is the easiest way to tell what breed he or shemay be. Some people choose to go by color, although color isn’t as easy to identify.Look of the cats is greatly dependent on breed, like the Persian and The Siamese breed. Siamese cats are almost always black, and easy to identify by their color and their eyes. Persian cats on the other hand, are easily identified by their body type and their hair.

Over the years, there has been quite a few breeds come along.Cats enjoy the priveledge of being one of the most popular and oldest pets of human beings. Millions of people around the world own cats, with many people preferring a cat over any other pet – including dogs. No matter breed of cat you get – you’re sure to get a pet who make for a great companion for years and years to come.
